Understanding the Power of the Subconscious

Hi beautiful family,

The seasons are shifting all across the globe right now; such massive changes happening collectively, environmentally and internally on all levels. I’m continuously filled with gratitude to be here with mama earth during these times, as hard as it can be, because I know within every cell of my being that change is necessary and that right now is an opportune time for collective and environmental empowerment and for realignment with the Loving guidance of our own soul.

I’m so deeply aware of how challenging it can feel to be amidst so much constant change and unknown and simultaneously touch in to the rawness and vulnerability within our emotional and psychospiritual landscapes. I honor and celebrate you for the courage that you are embodying to the best of your ability every single day to show up to the changes and to show up to yourself and to those whom you love.

Each of us have innate wisdom within us that knows exactly what we need to be healthier and happier physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We have a loving guidance system inside of us that naturally wants us to move towards more embodied freedom and health, ecstatic expression, and soul alignment.

What is it that keeps us from listening to this guidance?

What keeps us stuck attracting the same sabotaging experiences or relationships over and over again?

What holds us in stagnation and pushes us away from what we truly desire?

The Subconscious:

There are incredible studies that show that our conscious mind, the one that is aware of what decisions we are making moment by moment, is only in operation about 5% of the time. This means that about 95% of the time we are actually moving through our life, making decisions, relating with others, and viewing and experiencing the world from our subconscious mind. The subconscious is a matrix that holds all of our soul memory’s and belief systems...especially those with a strong EMOTIONAL imprint. These emotional imprints/the emotional body and pain body, color the lens that we view the world, day in and day out.

These subconscious emotional imprints are also embedded within the cells of our body, rooted into the fascia and nervous system, effecting how we posture ourselves, how we breathe, how we respond to stress and determines how we feel in relationship to our environment. Many of these subconscious imprints are formed when we are in utero and continues to seep into our subconscious matrix until about age 7-10. It is during these early years that we soak in everything from our environment, receiving it all as true and receiving it all as our own personal experience. We also begin to form our own stories about life and about ourselves as we navigate how to engage and feel safe within our environment. During these early years, we have not yet developed the part of our brain that filters information; we have not yet learned how to be sovereign in relationship to our parents and therefore we cannot yet distinguish between our own truth/experience and the experience of others. When we witness emotional expression or suppression, along with various relational dynamics, and perceived beliefs about ourselves and the world, we receive it all as information that serves as a foundation for how we relate with life. If these experiences are harsh or traumatic, we begin to form coping mechanisms/protective mechanisms as we react to stressful situations; often internalizing more challenging emotions and belief’s that we may not be able to feel, integrate or release at that stage in life. The content that enters our subconscious and embeds itself within our emotional body and pain body, become building blocks for how we live our lives and structures how we see ourselves for years to come.

If you think back to your childhood, what were some of the primary emotions and relational dynamics that you witnessed from those around you and experienced within yourself?

Was anything internalized or suppressed?

What beliefs or stories may you have taken on about the world, or about yourself that may still be effecting your life today?

If these imprints have qualities that inhibit or suppress our full soul expression, they will begin to show up in our day to day life, speaking to us through the relationships we attract, through our triggers, through our body sensations, through “disease” and through our rising emotions, even decades later.

Why do these subconscious imprints show up? Why do they want our attention?

The parts of us that are suppressed, stuck, unhappy, or seemingly self sabotaging, speak to us through our *SoulBody (the living breathing matrix of our body and soul as one. The very sacred and wise human body temple that speaks and guides through senses and emotions). These parts of us want our loving attention, they desire to be witnessed, integrated or released and alchemized back into wholeness. We are not doomed to live from our suppressed emotional content or pain body forever. We have the opportunity to create safe spaces for these imprints to be honored and felt as we find presence within ourselves and offer compassion and curiosity to our SoulBody. As we begin to slow down enough to feel through our own personal healing, we become liberated as suppressed content surfaces, integrates and releases. This aids in the completion cycle of past traumas and experiences and provides the opportunity to return to embodied wholeness through healing reintegration.

It is revolutionary to be in our body and heart amidst a culture that values the mind over all else. It is revolutionary to listen to the guidance of our spirit, to feel and honor our emotions, to alchemize our wounds into wisdom and to love and value ourselves from a place of wholeness. We each have been gifted a sacred body that is filled with the intelligence and wisdom of our soul, imbedded with a deep knowing of exactly what we need for our optimal health, vitality, soul empowerment and fulfilling expression. Our body tells us a story about where we’ve been and holds the key’s to where we want to go.

If you desire 1:1 support to tune into your SoulBody wisdom, to feel and express your emotions, integrate parts of yourself that desire loving care and attention, and align with your most loving soul path, it would be such an honor to work with you. During Somatic Coaching we hold a safe and loving container for tuning into the subconscious with curiosity and compassion, welcoming you back home to wholeness with yourself.
